Stephanie Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with first responders and their families providing individual, family and group therapies. She maintains a private practice in Edmond, Oklahoma.
With over 25 years experience in the mental health field, and as a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with first responders thought Oklahoma. Her areas of interest are trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, anxiety, depression, as well as family and job related issues specific to first responders. Stephanie works as a contract therapist for Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), a national organization that provides support and counseling to co-workers and family members of fallen law enforcement officers. In addition she partners with the non-profit group, Warriors Rest Foundation assisting with peer support activities and education to first responders and their families.
Included in her practice is her therapy dog, in training, Han Solo. Solo is a yellow Labrador Retriever who is working to become a certified therapy dog. He enjoys treats, fetching the morning paper, long walks, hide and seek, cuddles and more treats. He is in training to learn to control his passionate greetings.
Stephanie is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support, practical feedback, education and when needed EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients effectively address personal and professional life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
